badgerman 0 Posted July 23, 2010 iirc it gets up to around a max 120 - 130 db in the stands on a full throttle segment if there's a few cars at once. At work our health and safety officer compared 130 decibels to a jet engine and in the work place ear defence was required by law cos it causes unrepairable damage to the ear. The areas which we have to wear head gear at work I would never have thought would have damaged my ears. It is deceptive. iirc Formula One is kinda loud, but if you really want to screw your hearing up you need Top Fuel dragsters. Damn right! nothing quite like 8000 horses at full throttle. Especially cos you are less than a track width away from the action! Always followed by the nitro methane cloud that burns ur eyes a bit. Mint. You going to the european finals in sept? and anyone who mocks you for wanting to protect your hearing is a moron. Damn right. You can have a good laugh at them in their golden years def as a post.
