Toad 0 Posted August 13, 2010 Leisure batteries are no good for cranking engines over on.
GusPW 0 Posted August 13, 2010 I got a Bosch silver plus (S5 I think) from costco for about £50. Has plenty of CCA's (cold cranking amps, around 700ish) which is what you want in a starting battery, anywhere around or above 600 is good (I think the VR6 spec states a lot less). That and good shiny-clean terminals and connections helps it turn over faster in cold weather as there is always lots of power available to the starter motor. stretch. 0 Posted August 13, 2010 I use the battery from my diesel focus. That thing could jump start a dead horse.
leeeeshad 0 Posted August 13, 2010 Leisure batteries are no good for cranking engines over on. What He said, they dont give enough current (AH, amp hours is the capacity of the battery)
