bassjamm 0 Posted September 24, 2010 Hi everyone, Just wondered if any of you have had any experience with compact active subs? If so, how would you integrate it into a system as it already has it's own amp? I'd probably be looking to install a stealth shelf with some 6x9s and upgrade the current standard speakers too...! Any thoughts would be great. Thanks Jamie
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 24, 2010 By using the Headunit's dedicated Subwoofer RCA output :D Or, if your HU is pre-war, most active subs will accept a speaker level input aswell, which is basically just a bunch of strong resistors to knock the current down. I have sampled a couple of active subs over the years and the best one I heard by far was surprisingly a cheapy RoadStar one. Was only about £100 a goodly number of years ago. Doubt it's around anymore. The worst ones I've heard are the plastic cased round ones that are designed to sit in spare wheel wells.
bassjamm 0 Posted September 24, 2010 Thanks for that mate... Anyone used one of the Pioneer TS-WX77A's before? Looks interesting!
