Recommended Posts

is this actually possible!?

I bought some megs paint cleaner, polish and also there carnuba wax to try and get rid of my paint swirls but i swear you cant by hand and i dont have a rotary polisher.....yet. Has anyone managed to do it?

Also i 1500 wet and dried my bonnet as their where may tar marks and blemishes and thought this would get rid of them, it come up pretty well after using the 3 previously mentioned megs products but it still has swirl marks in white light!

How can i get rid of them and what am i doing so wrong!!!!

Might be a daft question but have you had any joy with a claybar and a lot of elbow grease? (disclaimer: soapy water or a proper cleaning fluid is probably better than actual elbow grease)

No didn't try claying as my clay bar is filthy! Think I do need to bite the bullet and go the rotary way, although buy a decent one as my one from halfords caught on fire this weekend! Ah well at least it's only under White light the swirls are noticable, also can't reccomend the megs stuff highly enough for the money absolutely brilliant for the diy detailer!

You need a new clay bar mate and a machine polisher. Id recommend a DA if you're new to polishing, less chance of damaging your paint. Oh and it will take ages to get rid of every last swirl! Have fun lol, i just try to get about 80-90% correction these days as i cant be bothered going for that last bit, its soo annoying when u get it perfect then wash the car or something and u find a small swirl mark etc lol.
