Sorry not been on for a bit!

Lot of problems at home at the moment but hopefully will get the person out of my life soon enough!

Got an email from Graham around a month ago with a status update but for some reason it has been deleted from my email so I will have to get my bro to upload the photos and text.

Hope you are all well and I hope to be returning to my self soon

Jon_vr6 : Can you upload the email and photos, cheers bro!!!

Attached are a few photos of the strip down.

Cylinders 3 and 4 are a bit oily

Crank, conrods and main bearing caps

The conrod shells were in good condition

This shows that there is no cross hatching left in the bores, basically its just worn out.

Status at the minute, the bores have been re honed, Block painted, pistons cleaned and inspected, new rings fitted, pistons reinstalled new conrod shells and main bearings fitted and crank reinstalled.

Im waiting for some more conrod bolts as I only realized yesterday that they hadnt sent them all, the I can get them all torqued down.

Did you make a decision regarding a new oil pump? Id recommend it as everything else will be new.

Was just thinking about my car and was wondering why it does not accept a full tank of fuel, for some reason when it gets to about 3/4 full it starts clicking like mad, does my head in. my bro will vouch for this problem as he couldn't stop laughing while i had petrol all over my feet

Hopefully get car back before Summer, but they did say when I dropped her off in December that they can only work on it when they have time..

Na standard will be fine mate as it gets hot but not that hot!, had a few done now and not had a problem with melting paint :)

That is basically what you get if you order a cam cover now, it comes with the blue VW logo and the VR6 DOHC in red as per off a golf VR6 as the plain silver one is now obsolete, and looks like its been masked up and painted black.

You can see that the VW logo still has silver in the middle so he has masked off the circle rather than the lettering VW

Update

3/4th June has gone and still no VR

Last news i got from Graham was it was running back on 5 cyclinders suspected injector problem, so all injectors have gone away to get sonic cleaned.

Fingers crossed it won't be to long before I get her back
