2.0 16v running issue

Recommended Posts

I have had a running issue with my 2.0 16v for a few months now and was hoping something i found today might help find the problem. As the car was idleing (just about!!!) I pulled a plug off from the side of the air box (nearer to the engine) and it idled and revved out really well. Does this identify what the issue could be??

thanks for any help

Have you tried changing the lambda? Afik, unplugging that plug makes it run open loop like the 1.8 k-jet, so I think your problem is feedback loop related.

No, im pretty sure the lambda is connected to a plug found near the rear engine mount, but I'm pretty sure the plug you are speaking of puts the ecu into basic settings mode when unplugged, I.e. Ignores all feedback signals and so doesn't richen/lean mixture.
