A guy on the Yahoo group email (Asim for those who know him) did a samco hose group buy about a year or so ago and hit a few probs

 

the main one was samco didnt keep that many set of corrado hoses in stock so took them longer to delivery than usual

 

only a kind word of advise for you guys :)

I thought the Samco hoses can be prone to popping off anyway because they aren't as grippy as standard hoses, and fitting can be difficult because they don't bend as easily. I phoned Stealth and they recommended I kept to original on my VR6. That and the wait of anything from 8-weeks to several months put me off. Just my pennies worth, think they look good but at the end of the day I didn't think it was worth it.

If people are having to wait 8 weeks for these expensive hoses, then they have a right to know. And it's also worth noting that the heat exchanger hoses are not included in the kit.

You could also persuade someone to "lend" you a couple, send 'em to Samco and get 'em to make some up to add onto the VR6 packs?

 

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to order a weird set of pipes due to having got rid of the heat exchanger and having an external oil cooler now... :roll:

The hose that comes off the top of the rad & has a T off to the resovoir went in my VR. I went & bought a Golf VR6 one from a scrapyard (costing £15) as that was all they had. Needless to say it would not fit so, I ordered one from VAG costing €106.00

 

So based on that, the Samco kit is very reasonable... even before the discount

I got a call on my mobile today from Asim himself and he told me that the discount was in the region of 30% then again he did get 25 kits together, to that end, what is happening is he's going to approach the supplier with the previous order in mind and suggest doing it again at the same discount!

 

How does that sound?

Keep getting the orders in and see what happens, should turn out well!

The 30% discount is confirmed. a lad of the CGTI forum knows the guys at Amber, so he said we can hvae the 30% regardless of how many orders are placed!!
