bigtimeg60 0 Posted February 18, 2004 Hi guys just brought a g60 about a month ago and found that some idiot has gone and put brake fluid in the resovior for the power steering do you rekon if i flush it all out and replace with steering fluid it will be ok. Because it has just started to make afunny noise and am a bit worried about re morgageing my house to buy a new rack. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 18, 2004 Yeah flush it ASAP with proper VW PAS fluid, the green stuff. Hopefully you'll catch it in time and the pump blades won't have suffered too much. Don't run the engine with a dry pump. Pull off the rubber inlet hose, drain the fluid, turn the pump by had and blow through the resevoir bottle to blow all the crud out. Refit the hose, fill up with fluid, start the engine and then turn the steering lock to lock a few times. Best done on axle stands to take the load off the rack. You may need to do this twice to ensure all the old crud is driven out of the system. K Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
