olly elworthy 0 Posted February 19, 2004 hi ya had trouble with my coolant supposedly taking ages to warm up and never going above 65-70 degrees, changed the thermostat and its still doing it, any ideas folks? also is there a way i can check the sender for the gauge with a multimeter? if i vent off the coolant cap i can get the temperature to go up but this must be just due to me reducing the pressure, maybe my expansion tank cap is faulty and keeping the pressure to high?
Phil K 0 Posted February 19, 2004 Might be worth getting the oil pressure checked... at least that way you know for sure, although your oil light and buzzer should come on if it's not right... only other thought is try taking the revs over 2K whilst driving  BTW what engine is it? GazzaG60 0 Posted February 20, 2004 are you sure it doesn't go above this. have you got a secondary gauge or are you just looking at the MFA which may be faulty have you tried a new black temp switch or at least cleaning it.
