Wheel trouble

Recommended Posts

Got a set of wheels and tyres at the weekend (audi tt 17" competitions, with 225/45/17's) and having a trouble getting them to fit. The corner of the tyre fouls the spring seat....grrrrr.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Thanks guys but I tried 6mm spacers on the rear and they still catch.

I really like these rims so i have to make them fit!!!!.

do you think coilovers would help? I was planning on getting them eventually.

That's strange....last time I was at stealth, I watched a VR wearing the same wheels having H&R springs fitted (good choice!) and I didn't notice any spacers....they just went straight on. I think the fact you have 225 section tyres is the problem to be honest.....

as usual jedi is the fastest :p

225/45 is a large profile for the corrado to be honest! those were the tyres that came from the TT werent they! they have bugger arches, etc.

i think the corrado takes the following quite nicely

205/50/15

205/45/16

205/40/17

Ok, thanks to everyone. a smaller tyre does make sence. its just a bit annoying as they have nearly new p6000's all round. (yes they were straight off a TT).

Anyone want to buy some tyres?
