Alex_G60_Fanatic 0 Posted April 11, 2011 I know it's not a rado but your all so good on here that i thought i would ask My sisters Golf 1.6 Mk 4 got a flat battery last week. They charged up the battery and now the radio is DEAD. It doesn't ask for a code, it wont even flash on, there is no power going to the head unit from what my sister tells me. We have checked all fuses in the fuse box and still no power. Any thoughts?
MikeVR6 0 Posted April 11, 2011 Sounds like it's knackered. It should either ask for a code or display "learning" when you try to turn it on. Have a look at this thread... http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/301089/2001971.aspx

mimjed 0 Posted April 11, 2011 not sure uf the mk4 does the same as the 6n polo, but was quite common for the feed off the ignition to die when you played with the battery. i bodged birdo's to get hers powered up again, think it was plugging the red into the second connector on the yellow to get round it, but you have to turn it off manually when you get out the car.
