VR6 Gar

Fitting wideband, but retaining the cat Q.

Recommended Posts

Bought a De-cat from ebay for £42 posted but it was 5 cm too short so sent it back.

Been thinking that rather than spend about £70 on something that wont give and benefits other than a bit of extra noise I could just get the AFR bung welded into my new 6 branch near the bottom just before the joint.

Will the gauge still get accurate enough readings positioned here, and is there any other potential problems with this idea.

Mine is positioned there, on the header I bought from G-Werks. Reads accurate :-)

On the image it's where the bolt is stuck in..

The sensor needs to be placed where it can sample gasses from all the cylinders, but as close to the engine as can be possible.

Cool, didn't realize it was supposed to be as close to the engine as possible, so it will be perfect just before the join then. Just need to find someone to weld it on now.

Cheers.
