Tinting/detailing/smoking fogs and indicators

I've just done the age old mod of detailing the inside of the headlights to give it a darker/smokey look. I'd really like to do the fogs and indicators in the same way rather than using film but I can't find any info on it. Anyone here attempted it?

 

I'm tempted to just give it a try but worried about trying to find decent fogs and indicators if it turns out crap.
