rallyeman 0 Posted March 3, 2004 Hello, the temperature display on my MFA reads -40 all the time. This would suggest that the sensor is knackered, right? Now I know this is a corrado forum but I was wondering if anyone would know where this sensor is on a golf rallye, and where I can get a replacement one from (VAG only or not?). Does anyone know if the sensor serves any other purpose than measuring the temperature for the dash display, is it required by the ecu for any reason? Is it easy to replace? Thanks Geoff
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 3, 2004 On Golfs the sensor is clipped into the bumper iron and on the Corrado it clips into the lower trim above the chin spoiler. You may find it's in a similar place on the Rallye as it has totally different bumpers to normal MK2s. Yeah the dealer will have them. Yep it's purely for the outside temp measurement. If the ECU needs to know inlet temperature there'll be one on the manifold somewhere like on VR6s. You might want to check the wiring first to make sure that's OK before splashing the cash.
