Dead alarm

Recommended Posts

OK, so I had a dodgy relay (no 109) that kept making a weird noise and affected the start-up of the car. So decided to get a replacement, took the old one to the garage to make sure I got the correct replacement. Stupidly I then didn't put the new one on straight away and when I came around to do it last night the alarm is completely dead. No response from the remote, no central locking from the key & no immobiliser.

Also at the same time as the relay was out so was the battery as I was charging it up indoors.

So, is it just a case of somehow retuning the alarm in to the car again or is it just that a 15 year old alarm that hasn't had any juice for a bit has packed in?

Its a laserline alarm if that helps?

Any light would be appreciated.

Cheers

Adam

Sounds like it needs to be re-calibrated to the fob.

It probably won't work with the key anyway as the wiring would have been re-directed to the alarm ecu rather than the microswitch in the door handle.

My alarm has some kind of magic i need to do turning the key and waiting for the light to flash a number of times to get it into calibration mode for a new fob. I'm sure yours will be something similar.
