Wont go above 4k revs wen cold without cutting out :(

Recommended Posts

My car is a good starter when cold. The only problem i have is when i need to pull out from a junction quickly when cold, because if i go above 4k revs, the engine seems to start firing on 4-5 cylinders for a few seconds and then clears itself. Its a real arse when you need to pull out into a small gap quickly! Its almost as if the engine has a safety cut out to stop you driving it hard when cold. But i dont think its that clever!

I really am stumped! :(

Its been doing it since i've had the car....a year now. I reckon if it was the fuel pump it'd have knackered by now maybe....

The only thing i can think is that yor right with the crank sensor....or the fuel pressure is dropping due to the regulator or fuel pump...or the 5 injector??

I have cured the warm starting problem i had....in the form of a £250 service! I guess it was dodgy spark plugs or leads...
