Finally have a Corrado after 7 years of longing for one

Recommended Posts

Hi, I finally got myself a 2l 16v corrado and I LOVE it!!!

Just had 2 new front wings as they were rusty as hell and had it all resprayed except for the spoiler and the roof. The sunroof motor has just seized so hopefully get it cleanedup and fixed next week by the handy other half. Other than that I'm super impressed. It has standard headlights which are awful down country roads. Any advice on what to upgrade to??

Is anyone around at the GTI fest in Santa Pod Oct? Would love to see what other Corradoowners have down with theirs.

Welcome to the forum and Corrado ownership.

Have a look in the group buy/ suppliers section for the lad who makes updated looms. I recently fitted one to my 8v and am very impressed, with the product, service and end result.

Sunroof motor is do-able but allow yourself a full day if you've never done it before. A second pair of hands comes in handy as well.

You might want to upgrade the wipers to Mk1 TT or Lupo GTI items if you're running standard items whilst you're at it.

All the best and let's have some pictures !

Bring on the good weather next week so it can get cleaned so I can get some pics taken. The only ones I have are from when it was advertised.

Exhaust got replaced last week so invested in a lifelong one.

She's currently getting a well deserved service as I don't think the last owner did it at all. Although to be fair I'm quite glad because I'm only a learner when it comes to mechanics so it gives me somewhere to start.

Deffinately want to get a leather interior too.

Hi from Crawley, good to see another Corrado in the area. I may have seen you about, after owning mine for a year and never seeing another locally, I've now seen a few in the last month.

If you're interested in local meets, there's a monthly VW meet called Prept at Brands Hatch every last Wednesday eve of the month which isn't too far. There's normally 2 or 3 Corrado's there. I'll be there this Weds.
