beastie4126 0 Posted January 14, 2012 Nosing around the bay this morning and came accross this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ford-escort-mk1-inner-wings-genuine-ford-very-rare-rs-mexico-bda-rally-race-/160713007299?_trksid=p5197.m1374&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26otn%3D12%26po%3DLCA%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5598925159870917166 Just how long will you have to lock away Corrado bits before they start to be worth that kind of money, 10 - 20 years ? Portent 0 Posted January 14, 2012 There is a real affection for old Fords but I'm not yet sure if Corrado's will be held in the same regard (I sincerely hope they are but they may forever be in the shadow of the more desirable mk1, mk2 Golfs). So while parts may become rare, the number of people needing parts will also decline. Having said that, some parts are already out of control expensive; e.g. Recaro's and Schrick manifolds (which admittedly aren't Corrado specific). I'm lucky that mine is in the garage but I may worry about the interior when I one day move to a house without one.
dragon green 5 Posted January 14, 2012 Mk1 ford prices for body panels are always going to be high ! As they were such rust buckets in the first place !
VR6 0 Posted January 14, 2012 PPrices will get silly (sillier!!) as the years pass. I would hoard parts that I know I would use at some point. But parts just for the sake of making money? Average out the money you make over X years and I bet you could do better by picking 10 mining stocks!
Peakz 0 Posted January 14, 2012 I think this specific part relates to the uber rare mkI RS's whose inner wings are different to the standard mkI's hence the strong price. Prices for sporting VAG cars, read Ur quattro's, SEAT SuperCopa's, Golf III Kit-car's will be similarly priced. The rarity of the Corrado may well see some NLA parts go up in value, maybe it's time to get out your rust-proofing of choice and start filling cavities and covering internal panels with it.
