bigbluec 0 Posted March 25, 2004 Hi all need to adjust the handbrake on my valver, pads are new and calipers are set fine just need to adjust it at the handbrake itself but have heard it's an arse of a job to get the plastic cover and centre console off without breaking and scratching both cover and console... any tips? Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 25, 2004 Getting the relevant bits off is the easy bit, getting them back again is the hard bit! The handbrake surround clips into the transmission tunnel and is a real pig to line up. The lever surround needs to slide forward off the lever once you've unclipped and removed the leather handle. Once they're off, you're presented with 4 10mm bolts on the cables. Undo the outer lock nuts, then the inner ones, slacken the cable as required (3 clicks to lock the wheels is the MOT requirement) then retighten the bolts. Then the fun of getting all the trim back on again begins! I didn't bother to adjusting mine after new pads but I think locking the wheels with 1 click is a bit excessive  K
