Donjon 0 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Hi everyone, some of you may remember that I used to have a green storm a while back. After spending loads on it and replacing pretty much everything on it i did start to enjoy it! But then reality kicked me in the teeth and I had to sell it to buy a diesel a3.... Fortunately my circumstances changed for the better again and i soon shopped the a3 in for an S3 which i have been enjoying for a while. But after attending the corrado rolling road day at stealth and seeing all those cars again and meeting alot of good people from this forum whom id talked to on the forums but never met, kinda made me want one back! On top of the S3 not playingball that weekend it seemed like a sign.... So im soon to be back in a corrado! Not a VR this time but a 2.0 16v, I was amazed at how much you could get a tidy valver for these days and when Chris Peasgood (Cheesy on here) answered my post on facebook asking for a cheap runaround i hotfooted it down to him and we soon struck a deal on his nice valver! I will be picking it up in a couple of weeks and genuinely cant wait, i know it wont be as fast as the s3 or my old one but there is something about how the corrado feels right when you sit in it. So yeah thats my essay filling in the gaps since ive been gone, im sure Chris wont mind me posting a few pics up that I found on his build thread for it as well. When my computer starts to co-operate i will upload pics! Edited March 18, 2012 by Donjon

Chrisvw419 0 Posted February 20, 2012 Good to hear also, I did think you were crazy selling the storm (to me may I add). She is still in my ownership and has undergone a few changes. Still haven't got round to starting my thread yet but this news may spur me on. Congrats with the purchase, looks a great example!

Redfox 10 Posted February 20, 2012 Hmm, something is wrong. The steering wheel is on hte right side? The picture must heve been mirrored? Otherwise a nice car, with nice standard wheels and nice carpets. :smug: Redfox

Chrisvw419 0 Posted February 20, 2012 Cheers mate, glad to see you still have it, im glad it went to a good home. Got any plans for it? and Pmed Abdul! Well, it now has cream leather recaros, all red rears (again), uprated headlight loom, replaced K&N with standard setup, oem volt and oil pressure gauges, karmann number plate holders and I'm waiting on my schrick manifold to come back from being soda-blasted so I can get that installed. I also have all the necessary parts for a climatronic install and looking for a reasonably priced obd2 setup. Future plans involve replacing the broken sunroof mechanism which gave up on me a couple of months back, tidying up of the bodywork including investigating the full extent of the rear arch repair and finally either supercharger or r32 engine swap. Have you already started plans for yours?
Donjon 0 Posted February 20, 2012 Good list! That engine was orininally from an OBD2 golf with an auto box so its probably thinking WTF is going on at the mo! I was always paranoid about the sunroof, never really used to slide it back only tilt it. If i kept the car my next plans were to tackle that rear arch, it was the only thing that really stood out for me. You planning on staying on the soitudes? No real plans for the valver just general tidy up and enjoy, i bought it so i could keep a bit of money back for something very nice in the future. Chrisvw419 0 Posted February 20, 2012 I know exactly what you mean, I keep seeing it and think about blasting it off but a bit worried what i might find lurking beneath. It hasn't missed a beat since I purchased it just think the obd2 would smooth things out a little. As for the sunroof, typically I was only operating it to ensure it wouldn't seize and it broke. Solitudes will be refurbed at the same time as a set of porsche design 90's I have been hoarding for a while and I have always liked the look of the d90's on the rado. Planning on raising the coilover height a little as I was lucky enough to snap up another fully standard classic green storm a month or so ago and think midway between the two would look good. Enjoy your new purchase, I'm sure the list will grow once you have it home.
Redfox 10 Posted February 20, 2012 Hmm... What does right hand drive mean? I wonder why on Earth one would do that? :afro: all right, I stand down ;) Very nice car. That clima-tronic is surely a nice thing ;) Cheers, redfox.

I always had those in mind, also the RH ZW1 with classic green centres I considered.

Thats the exact plan, only have the silver caps at the moment but when I get that far they will be on the wish list along with slightly stretched tyres all round! Donjon 0 Posted February 21, 2012 Will look great on those, then you can raise it up abit and it won't look silly. Also you will preserve the sump!
