[For Sale]Highly Customised G60 Charge Cooling Solution

Recommended Posts

Up for sale is the chargcooling setup I was using in my Nugget G60.

It consists of the following bits:

1 x AVT/PWR 4" x 6" chargecooler (£275.00 new)

1 x AVT/PWR 11" aluminium chargecooling radiator (£189.99 new)

1x AVT/PWR aluminium chargecooler header tank (no longer available in the spec I have but a new one will cost you £39.99)

1 x BBM RSR outlet (£113.52 not including shipping or import tax)

1 x modified set of BBM G60 intercooler tubing (£252.25 not including shipping or import tax)

1 x Bosch chargecooling pump including plug and wiring(£109.19 new when I bought it)

This is a bolt on solution with no cutting of panels etc involved for a G60 and I ran it reliably on my nugget for over 3 years (fitted in '09), it does show 3 years worth of use but a quick go over with some metal polish has bought up the shinny bits nicely.

I did see a drop in boost pressure across the range thanks to the extra CFM (airflow) this set-up provided, however, the car was much more responsive to drive thanks to the extra air flow through the system.

Another plus is that you will be able to fit the later gearbox shift weight with this modification as the BBM boost pipework does not obstruct the weight, this makes for a vastly improved 'feel' when changing gear.

I can also provide (for an extra £75) a custom ECU MAP created by Dave formally of DG Autotech which was mapped for a stock G60 using a standard pulley and using this set-up - it went very well indeed and was keeping up with Jim's schricked and chipped VR6 through the gears, so despite the fact I never put the nugget on a rolling road session I am confident it was making 180bhp+.

New this setup will cost you £980 just for the major parts, you will still need to pay shipping, import duty, buy some extra hose and then work out how to fit it all to the car. I am more than happy to provide instructions over the phone as to how to put it all together and I have a selection of photos that can be emailed as well.

Given all of that I am after £500 posted, this chargecooler is good for 260bhp of output, not a figure that even heavily modified G60s tend to reach so you won't need to replace it!

There is a new set of jubilee hose clips on order to replace the existing ones as they are grotty and I had to use some when refitting the original pipework to the G60.

Cheaper than a Rallye FMIC solution!

Total cost of new bits amended as I can't add up, its now just under a £1000 like it should be :/

Hi, would you consider selling the BBM RSR outlet separately? And do you have any close up pics? It seems to be pretty small on my computer.

Thanks.

I may be interested in this but don't need a BBM RSR Outlet, have one already. Also not sure about the pipework as I run a Pro Alloy FMIC kit with its own pipework

The difference between a pro alloy FMIC and this setup will be negligable as its the constant pipe bore and removal of restrictions like the plastic silencer box and the rubbish intercooler that really help with the CFM.

Not willing to break for piece part spares yet as this is a complete kit as it stands.

Works for me that way, I have Jim and Supercharged up visiting until Tuesday so I won't be able to get it packed up etc until then.

£425 posted for the chargecooling bits and £75 posted for the RSR outlet gents?

Is the outlet a genuine BBM rsr? and if I remember correctly there was a newer version with knife edged fins as well? If you could supply some close up photos that'd be great, sorry if it seems a little pedantic! If you would accept £70 posted then it sounds like a plan! Thanks. Sam.

Sam, genuine BBM one although pre machined outlet fins (they only take an angle off).

I need G60 CS to say yes to the rest of the kit prior to selling the RSR though.

Ok then, will wait for his reply. Thanks for getting back to me! Would it come with the connecting pipework/everything I would need to bolt it straight on?

Yeah, RSR outlet, bolt, silicon reducer hose from RSR outlet to boost pipework and a joiner pipe.

Hi yandards, have you had any word from G60 CS yet? Thanks.

Yes he seems interested just trying to sort the price out.

As soon as he agrees I will let you know about the RSR outlet.

Sorry to keep bangin' on, but wondering whether you have come to any conclusion with G60 CS yet? Thanks :-)

The last message I had was that he wanted it but was going on holiday for a week and would sort it out when he gets back.
