leaking fluid

hi my car is leaking fluid,the last time it was on a ramp i noticed the metal pipes on the rack are rotton.its now driping on the floor.are these pipes hard to change,does it need doing on a ramp and whats the cost of the pipes.cheers

My pipes arrived this morning £37 2pipes+pp15hours after ordering quality service thingys are called p/steering transfer pipes not available from vag

Hey carrots,

 

I managed to swap my pipes over with it on axle stands and bending the crap out of a 17mm spanner to reach around all the other bits. Took a couple of hours to get it done but haven't had troubles since! One thing not to forget would be use the proper steering fluid! Not too expensive and well worth the piece of mind :)

best to cut the pipe as close to nut then get nut off with a socket rather than a spanner other end is a banjo fitting so if your changing both pipes get yourself 4 new copper washers and as per usual plenty of wd40 there is a pas bleeding thread on the forum hope this helps anne
