Pauter Rods + R32 JE Forged Pistons 85mm 11.5:1 CR - New - Perfect for High Output NA

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I don't think I am going to build a new engine for my R32 Corrado so I am selling off a couple of parts that I am no longer going to need.

Up for sale are some brand new in box R32 Pauter Rods. These are pretty much the best money can buy, they are made in the USA (not China like so many of the rods that you can buy on e-bay) and are completely bullet proof. I personally regarded these as essential in a high revving NA R32 engine with a stroke (and the associated piston speeds) of 95mm+. As with all Pauter rods, they also come complete with ARP rod bolts.

Also no longer needed are some high compression JE pistons. These are 85mm bore and 11.5:1 compression ratio. These have been used in someone else's dry build and have a couple of scuffs as pitured below. These are above the fire ring and there are no raised areas so these would not impair performance or function. They could probably be dressed out with some 2000 grade wet & dry paper followed by some fine scotchbrite. Because they have been used in a dry build I bought some brand new JE pro seal rings just in case the old ones had been gapped to the build. These are obviously complete with pins, circlips and build spec.

Current price new for the rods is $1,350 which translates to £870 On top of this you would need to pay for shipping and VAT if you were importing to the UK so somewhere around £1,100 at your door.

The pistons currently retail at $1,000 which as above translates to £645 On top of this you would need to pay for shipping and VAT if you were importing to the UK so somewhere around £800 at your door.

I am looking to sell these both together if possible. As for pricing, I would like to see £1,200 for these which is a saving of around £700 if you were to bring some over from the US, and less than you would pay for a set of Arrow rods alone before adding VAT!!

Wow, that would have been some motor with those in!

Have you posted these on the R32OC? Quite a limited market on here unfortunately, but GLWS!

Wait till you see the exhaust manifold, though that won't be for sale as I need that for the car...I do come up with some stupid ideas!!

I have them up on the R32 OC too. Agree, a little specialised.

Go on....pic? :D

I need to do something about my downpipe as it's making an irritating metallic resonant shriek under load. It's P'ing me off!

Blimey! Is that a one off? Very nice indeed!

Yep, a complete one off, and a total PITA by all accounts. Minimal space, long primaries of which three need to be longer than the others, needing to squeeze past a prop. The welding on it is something else!!

Not quite chrome, it is off to be ceramic coated, it runs very close to the inlet and the steering column boot too. It will probably be grey when done!!

That is rather special!

Thanks :)
