No Electrics

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Hope someone can help !!!

Opened my Corrado VR6 on the alarm button. All ok.

Ignition key in, turned the key and then I heard a faint pop.

Then Nothing..... Ahhhhggggggg.

No ignition, No lights, No Horn, Nothing at all.

I would presume that a fuse has blown.

But which fuse and where ?!?

Any suggestions where to start, I know where the main fuse panel is under the drivers side dash, but which fuse etc..

Please help, as my pride and joy is now stranded on the drive looking very sad.

Thanks in advance.

Would it be the case of just flat battery? When I forgot to switch off the lights, my car would still open on alarm, but there was just not enough juice for anything else. Having said that, you would expect some sort of electrics (ie, horn) would still work... even when battery almost completely flat.

Rain could be contributing factor here... maybe some sort of grounding problem when things get really wet?

Just pull the fuses out one at a time and replace once you've checked. You should see if theres anything obvious. :o

Thanks for the suggestions.

Pulled all the fuses one by one. All good.

Put an inspection lamp accross the battery. Battery looks good.

Then tried the inspection lamp from the Bat + to an earth on the chassy. Nothing. Ah Ha, bad earth.

Wiggled a few bits, checked the battery - terminal connection, and it moved. Setting the flippin alarm off.

Turned out all it was was a loose battery earth connection.

Note to self. Check the simple things first.
