ABS info, whats the trick?

So ive had ABS issues of late, I have the 2ltr 8v and when my mate and also the guys at the local garage connected it to the fault finding thing with the cable it didnt bring up anything to do with ABS, im told its a separate unit, if thats the case then how do we get the info?

Things that go wrong with the ABS:

 

Front sensors (cheap)

Rear sensors (less cheap)

Pedal Sensor (starting to be expensive, but a 10 minute fix)

ABS ECU (Ouch)

ABS Unit (Ow! Ow LOTS!)

 

With the possible exception of the ECU, all of these show up on the OBD2 output.
