g60_Russ 0 Posted April 9, 2004 Water guage used to sit on the needle and never move, but yesterday I kept noticing a red light flickering on the dash and when I looked the temperature guage was up & down like a yo-yo between 70-110 with the red water temp light flashing. I looked in the water bottle and the colour of the water was brown and oily. I suspect its the head gasket, but the engine oil is fine. Any Ideas? Anyone? andycowuk 0 Posted April 9, 2004 that looks grim mate......try filling the water up again....get the car running and up to temp, and squeeze he rad top hose to see if its stupidly pressurinsed....if its hard...then u should not be pleased! :( also look for excessive white smoke from exhaust.
