changing inner cv boots

hi my inner cv boots are split.how hard is it to change them and what tools do i need.1990 1.8 16v cheers

spline socket for the driveshaft bolts is about all you need, that and plenty of rags for the horrid cv grease

do i just tap the inner cv off,do i need to remove the driveshaft off car

iirc the inners just slide off the shaft left on the car once the bolts are all off and the joint falls away from the gearbox flange, if they need a tap to pop them off it shouldn't be difficult to do on the car

so its not to tricky then.ive got new bolts with the boot kits and i will put some thread lock on um

They don't need thread lock but should be torqued correctly if possible

hi do you know what size spline socket i need.my new boot kit comes with allen key bolts

The spline type are M8
