scorrado123 10 Posted August 22, 2012 Hi all, I've bagged myself an infinity basslink (sub and amp combo) unit and want to get it fitted (Alpine head unit). I've got the leads but am getting quoted £80 t basically run the cables. Can anyone help?? happy to pay a reasonable amount! Cheers!
Pete 0 Posted August 22, 2012 There are loads of ways to get the live in from the engine bay, into the passenger foot well is easiest, then run up the centre tunnel power on one side and phono on other. Connect the earth to one of the seat belt or seat mounting bolts and your done in terms of cable. Just need to find a place to mount it. It's easier than it sounds. Jamie 1 Posted August 24, 2012 If you're not in a massive hurry I can probably hook you up but tbh if it's a decent shop, I don't think £80 is that bad really if they're going to do a good job.
krishen 2 Posted August 27, 2012 Im in Harrow, but can travel a reasonable distance. HAve you tried car audio centre? To be honest its not that hard a job to have a go your self. If you did go it alone im sure i could find some time to give you a hand as im just down the road from you in wembley.
_Meth 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Its a very easy job to do - I would do it yourself. However a good shop will give you the best setup for it, especially if they are going to tune it all up and get the settings sorted etc for £80! Thats the bit that takes the time. Plumbing in a big banging from your boot is easy - its taken me months to get mine sorted out now to the point where the sound stage is directly in the center of the car and the bass sounds great with any song (although weak on rock songs - but cant turn it up any more as its insane with dubstep allready!). Of course if you have the correct metering tools you can do this very quickly - but by ear, it takes aaages!
