dubnut 10 Posted August 23, 2012 hi all i have came into possession of a satin siver valver its failed mot on emissions..so I've replaced cat n lambda.. anyway it doesn't start every time ? connect bat turn key....engine turns doesn't fire...turn off wait ten secs ...turn key...fires first time. it does this consistently...turn it off and try to start and it won't...turn off...wait ...turn on and fires.. im led to believe and can see evidence of coil..leads... plugs...metering head...all being replaced when it starts it runs fine although it did bog down and had no power last time i drove it...took water temp sensor off and it ran again...tested sensor and seems fine any ideas anyone. i am searching the forum as you read this want it on the road as a nurse ran into my blackberry as i stopped for a ambulance !!! Pete 0 Posted August 23, 2012 Been having similar issue. Is the engine trying to turn over? Have a listen at the rear for any whine from the fuel pump, if so consider new one as the pump might not be priming the fuel lines ready for the first attempt. The pump should be pretty much silent. Other things could be blocked injector, and you can get them cleaned, but to be honest that would probably be ore random and from what you describe it's doing it consistently. Does it idle smooth or lumpy? A rough idle is a sign of injector issues. If it were stuff like coils, plugs and leads etc it wouldn't be so predectable at the second attempt so I would look at fuelling first. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

dubnut 10 Posted August 28, 2012 fuel pump under car whirrs for a couple of secs everytime i turn the key then is silent.. I've swapped temp sensor for known good no difference... gonna swap the coil over...got brand new dibby and arm stuck ! ---------- Post added at 5:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:49 PM ---------- and leads and plugs?
