seanoVR 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Got a little problem which became apparent on my recent trip up the M6. When i'm driving at 80-90 everything is smooth and all good. But, sometimes, as i was easing off the accelerator the car kind of jerked a bit! Don't really know what word to use, but it just was not smooth. Not sure if it is a sensor out, or maybe soming to do with the throttle body?? Anyone had this in there VR? Hope it isn't tooo grave. As i say, it is only intermittent at the moment. Cheers, Sean

corradovr6sc 0 Posted April 16, 2004 I don't know if it's the same thing but when I press/depress the throttle it is slightly jerky. It must be a VW trait as my polo does it too. Unless it is something else. Think we need fly-by-wire throttles to smooth things out.

Si B 0 Posted April 16, 2004 I had a similar problem with my G60 and it turned out to be the throttle position sensor wire. There is a switch/sensor which tells the ECU when the throttle is shut and thus when to feed some air through the idle valve but the wire was shorting and so the ECU had no idea what to do and the car just bunny hopped along when you were coasting as well as stuttering when you tried to take off. The swich lives on the throttle body and is reasonably obvious to spot. It might be worth checking the operation of this. My problem was also intermittent.
