Vr6 Auto 94 Radiator Fan & Motor

same as a normal one for a manual - best to replce with some slimline Spal-type fans though. Whats happened to yours?

well some really strange noises coming from their, whinning, clunking sometimes even looks like the fan is struggling to rotate. Would it be the case that it might be the fan OR the motor? Would you suggest i do both at the same time?

might be worth just taking the fan out and removing the aux fan belt and running it that way. The fan is really quite beefy so shouldnt struggle. Best to diagnose it throughly first. Like you say, it could be just the fan, may be just loose on teh shroud, which would cause it to clunk as it trips in and out.

Where are you based - i'm sure there will be someone local who could cast their eyes over it for you?

So just to follow on gonna get a new fan fitted, Bosch £180

 

Now after the Upper Radiator Hose FLANGE which has a tiny hole in it, cant get anywhere appartently obselete. Does anyone have one of these?

much cheaper and far more efficient to replace the whole setup with some Spal slimline fans, about £50 each, you could even get away with just one. Very light, very efficient and quiet, so all advantages.

The top radiator flange is available from VW Classic Parts, around £10 if memory serves.
