Interior Light Bulbs

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Has anyone got the part no's for the following bulbs?

Or better still, their size and type so I can get them from Maplin's.

I've tried to order them from GPC but they can't help without the no's.

Instrument cluster bulbs (one behind MFA's gone)

Bulb behind the middle Heater Control Knob. (VW only list entire unit!)

Bulb for cigarette lighter (not ashtray as it lights up ok)

Bulb for glove box (haven't looked but probably a standard bulb)

Many Thanks

Mike

I know the dash bulb's definately not a fuse, as the rest of the clocks light up ok.

The ashtray light works but the little green ring around the lighter doesn't. So I'd guess the bulbs gone there.

When I take the bulb out of the heater knob, I can see the element's broken.

But the bulb is sooo tiny, there's no part number on it.

Glovebox light worked two months ago. Doubt it has a fuse of its own.

Good place to start though I suppose Supercharged. :)

right then... I've just been playing on Etka looking for bulbs... ;) 8)

the standard dash bulbs on a Corrado are:

3x 12v 1.8w with a blue base across the top of the cluster = 357 919 243B

2x 12v 1.1w with a black base behind the 2 LCDs = 4A0 919 040 C

However, there are also some other ones available if you want to start playing with different colours and the like! ;) All of these should be interchangable, but I haven't tried it, so if they don't work, let me know and I'll knock 'em off the list! :)

1.2w = 431 919 040

2w = 893 919 040 A

0.5w = 191 919 243 C

and the piece de la resistance!

5W Halogen = 191 919 243 A :shock: 8)

The glove box light is a standard "bullet" type bulb, 12V 3W = N 017 726 2

Fag lighter bulb and holder = 191 919 243 B

Boot light 12V 5W (Bullet type) = N 017 725 2

Interior light (door) 12v 10w = N 017 723 2

Interior light (map) 12v 5w = N 017 752 2

The heater bulbs aren't shown for either early slider style or later dial style facias... :(

Hope this helps... 8)

Has anybody used any of Henny's listed three bulbs yet. + do you have to unsolder the gauges from the boards to get at the LCD bulbs

ALL bulbs on the clocks are accessible from the rear of the unit, so you don't need to open up the housing unless you want to mess with the colours of the illumination... ;)

Even if you do want to open 'em up, there's no soldering involved as the gauges just pull off the main board and the LCDs are held on by T4 (I think) screws...

Maplins sells lighting gel in rolls which are enormous and total overkill for the job, but are designed to take large amounts of heat and not melt or change colour... that's what I've used in mine... 8)

What colours are you looking for Woody?
