VR6 0 Posted November 9, 2012 Does anyone have any experience of having cloth seats repaired for stuff like cigarette burns? I have an annoying one on my driver seat (not caused by me) and was wondering if it was worth having it repaired. Local guy is asking around £40 or so. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 9, 2012 For 40 quid I'd let him do it personally!
VR6 0 Posted November 9, 2012 Yeah I'm just curious about how they do it, what the colour match is usually like, are the results 'as good as new' or will it just hold up to close scrutiny. Needlework's not really my thing lol As you say, if it's £40 and a poor job, it still can't look worse than having a fag hole there!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 9, 2012 I think for that kind of money he'd probably snip a bit of material off from an unseen area and graft it into the fag hole! The only other way to do is to recover the entire section, which would cost considerably more than 4 brown sheets!
Goldie 2 Posted November 9, 2012 I had a burn fixed on a fiesta a long tim ago and they way the guy did it was fill the whole in with fibre, not a cut off or stitching it.. He kinda glued loads of bits of fluff in the burn. He had loads of different colours.. It was visible but not massively...
