Gabbastard 0 Posted April 22, 2004 Hi lads (first post) :) Ive been offered a G60 Corrado by my mate, for £700 (roughly $1200) Its had a full engine rebuild, and is all in pretty good condition. The only thing is, its a big Meccano kit i.e. all the pieces are there, but they all need put into the shell LOL as the car was fully stripped before. As such, he hasnt had the time to re-assemble it, and wants rid of it. However, he says its a G60 Wolfsburg (spelling?) edition. Ive never heard of this, and couldnt find any info on it. Can anyone enlighten me please? Oh yeah, and should I buy it? ;)
h100vw 0 Posted April 22, 2004 Corrados were not made at Wolfsburg, So that bit is misleading. However, that doesn't mean that the car is no good. You could definately sell the parts for more than 700 quid. Have you got the ability to put it back together. If not I wouldn't consider doing it. The condition of teh supercharger is the most important aspect of buying a G60. The cost of replacement could easily send an otherwise good car to the breakers.. Are you in the UK or USA? Gabbastard 0 Posted April 22, 2004 Hi mate Yeah sticking cars together is easy for me, already have several conversions under my belt as well as building a track car :) Im familiar with checking out the condition of turbos, but s/c's are new to me in that sense. What should I look out for? Im in the UK btw :)
Mike Edwards 0 Posted April 22, 2004 If the charger hasn't been servicesd (documentary evidence required...) in the last 20k miles, budget for a rebuild (~£350-£400). Otherwise, putting it back together is the same as any other VW.
