4eyes2wheels 0 Posted January 14, 2013 I have radiators in the house already but they are old and not very hot compared to the couple I have already replaced I have a decent condition cloth interior I have a very old cheap mountain bike but am keen to do a bit of road cycling In theory I can manage without all these upgrades . . . . krishen 2 Posted January 14, 2013 I love my heated leather seats especially in this weather. But then i love riding to and from work on my bike (even in this weather). Tough choice. In fact does your company not offer the cycle to work scheme? I bought mine through it and apart from saving about 42% (tax and NI) they split the remainder over 12 months. So my £700 bike costs me about £30 a month for 12 months.
4eyes2wheels 0 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) My company do not do the cycle to work scheme - I might look into getting them to set it up as the savings are, as you say, significant. In fact I will have a look at getting us registered on the scheme! Edited January 14, 2013 by 4eyes2wheels
Portent 0 Posted January 14, 2013 Bleed the radiators. If that doesn't work then take them off the wall, put them in the garden and flush them out with a hose. Then put them back on the walls and buy a leather interior for the VR.
boost monkey 0 Posted January 15, 2013 buy the rads for the house - much better investment than any bike or vehicle plus it keeps your missus happy (if you have one) which is just less hassle all round!
Jim 2 Posted January 15, 2013 Cycle to Work is not as good as it once was. To be honest just better off finding a good bike in the sales and sticking it on a 0% credit card if you want to drip-repay it :)
4eyes2wheels 0 Posted January 15, 2013 I may have to buy the rads to keep the family happy and warm and the cycle to work is not an option as the company want to consider benefits as a whole package - damn! So it's to the straight purchase which is annoying but there we are. I will have to think a bit and reduce general frivolous outgoings.
nrc 0 Posted January 15, 2013 You can have all three if you just get one new radiator, one leather seat and a single bike wheel...
