MikeVR6 0 Posted February 6, 2013 My Rado could do with a respray and I'm wondering would a wrap be a better choice? Surely it would save on the hassle of taking out windows etc? Is it possible to have a wrap in Mystic Blue or indeed any colour you like?

bristolbaron 10 Posted February 6, 2013 imo a wrap on a rado is gonna be a terrible idea. any rust bubbles, dents etc will show through for starters so unless your paint just looks flat you're already on the back foot. then take into consideration all the grooves etc that modern cars dont have - ends of roof strips will look bad, same for bumper grooves & fog/indi light inserts. textured sill area will peel away. im not saying dont do it, but whilst from a distance the car may look good [as a cheap respray would] when you're close up it's gonna bug you. jonny_ash 0 Posted February 7, 2013 I enquired about this with a 3m wrapping specialist and was told exactly what's written above. He basically advised me if I wanted to get decent results from a wrap I would need to have a full re-spray first as the wrap would emphasise any imperfections in the current paintwork. Its no cheaper than a re-spray either if you did just go for a wrap.
MikeVR6 0 Posted February 7, 2013 I thought that. Wrapping does lend itself to curvy new cars with less sticky out bits. Worth asking the question though. Cheers guys!
