Hofmiester 10 Posted February 13, 2013 Hi guys, Took my door cards out to fix rattles etc And also to sort out the bodge that someone had done in glueing the plastic trims that go around the door pulls to the leather (idiot) Managed to get them off around without damage and got some new ones with all tabs in tact. But.... I just can't get the buggers on! I last did this about 10 year ago. As I remember it you slide them sideways into place. However the bulge of the actual door handle gets in the way? Any tips? fla 9 Posted February 13, 2013 just pull and hold the door handle in the open position, put the surround in place and slide it into position. Release the handle.
Stonejag 10 Posted February 14, 2013 Are you sure you have the door card fitted correctly? If they're protruding slightly (maybe the front yellow-galvanised bracket is catching on the speaker pod/window switch wiring?) then the trims won't clip in. I've never pulled on the handles to refit them, mine just slide into place if you keep pressure on them as you slide them - but they may be knackered! Slide towards the hinge to remove and towards the B-pillar to refit. Stone
