Swompy 0 Posted March 25, 2013 Just had my daily (mk3 estate) MOT'd and one of the failures was the airbag light staying on (if it was tested on the 14th of march it wouldnt have been a problem :mad2:) I know the seats arent the original one and was wondering if this would cause the light to stay on. Something to do with the restraint straps  Whats the best way around this. A resistor across the wires is what I have found but not what rating to use? Dox 23 Posted March 25, 2013 Needs a scan. My MK3 CL estate on an S plate had no seat or passenger airbags.
Swompy 0 Posted March 25, 2013 Will be scanning it asap. Only air bag it has is the one in the steering wheel.

Roger Blassberg 0 Posted March 26, 2013 The other possibility is that the ribbon cassette behind the steering wheel is faulty. It is bolted to the back of the wheel and maintains contact with the airbag as it is turned. It is very easy to change. Best wishes RB
