Bunsen 0 Posted May 4, 2004 Hiya Can someone confirm the following - ('92 G60) 1 - No1 piston is at the timing belt end. 2 - At TDC the dot on the camshaft pulley should be lined up with the top edge of the inner cambelt cover (Aslo appears to be marked with a small ridge cast into the rocker cover). -I think my belt has slipped a couple of teeth but I don't want to change anything until I know for sure. My camshaft sprocket appears to have two dots (as you describe) and a single dot (also on the outside of the pulley) about 120 degrees offset from the pair of dots. So, (sorry to be pedantic) are you saying that at TDC (firing on No. 1) that the pair of dots should straddle the joint between the rocker cover and the head? Thanks again. The dots should be on the side of the cam sprocket away from the head and should straddle that joint at the front of the head... 8) I noticed the single dot on mine too, and have no idea what it's for... :?
