HELP! What the f***

Recommended Posts

Coming home from work today & my windscreen wipers stoped working ....ok i thought & chcked the back wipers nothing! mmmmm just a fuse ,simple ...so i set of to fix it, down the road at a garage i can use....when i say down ,well i live in Norway & this country has lots mountain roads that twist n turn...so what happend next was not funny at all.....my Brakes stoped working  what the f***!

well i survived by using my gears & a little handbake here n there...

so i checked the rest of the car& the problems are:

1:no brakes (very hard to press)

2:no wipers

3:sunroof stoped working

4:no fog lights

why would all these things go at the same time??

That's crazy! Sometimes I get the feeling cars want to kill you - I had two Escorts that seemed to want to off me at every opportunity! - so you've opened the fusebox and had a look? Your lights work but no fogs? Do your brake lights work? Skooshers? What year is your car - the later ones sunroofs close off the central locking do they not? Does that still happen? Have you done anything out of the ordinary to the car recently? The problem is electrically orientated - are all the relays in place?

The earth strap from the battery would be my first thing to check... :?

It's the thick wire which has the actual clamp on the battery molded/welded onto it which then feeds down the back of the battery, then bolts onto the chassis, and continues onto the gearbox...

They have a nasty habbit of oxidising (they go green or white and flakey when they do this) and mess about with the electrical systems something rotten... :(

Has your car got ABS, and is it Left Hand Drive? If it has both then this is almost certainly an electrical fault...
