robrado974 1 Posted May 23, 2013 Hi all , I purchased a red Vr badge a few days ago . It has a scuff on it , so it was cheap , the red has come off in one place revealing the black base coat .Im going to paint it but what's best to use ? Also does anyone know the colour ? Thanks Rob
Stonejag 10 Posted May 23, 2013 Any paint designed for plastics will be fine. I used a base coat of black Hycote Plastic & Vinyl Paint with a colour coat over the top (also by Hycote) and got good results. Be sure to prep them carefully - more time rubbing them down than you might like! - and spray in multiple extremely-thin coats to avoid streaks. If you get impatient and respray too soon then you'll get the orange-peel effect :) Stone
robrado974 1 Posted May 23, 2013 Thanks for reply stone . How did you cover the black edges ? seems a very fiddly job with masking tape . Rob
beastie4126 0 Posted May 23, 2013 You can use something like this if masking tape is a no go http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/humbrol-maskol-masking-fluid-28ml/
