Some GTI International Pics...

Recommended Posts

What wheels are on the second green raddo (one from germany 16v or g60) think they look class-mibby going for a set of keskin racers in next week or so-but would like to check those ones out first.

I have to say I think the Corrados managed to whupass that show really.

a) Jay's G60 (TT dash, Porsche rims & interior, old skool touches everywhere)

b) Ben's 4WD 20v Turbo on the Club stand

c) Guy's supercharged Storm, blinging like never before

d) The Corrado dragster

Were all highlights of the show for me

We also had one of the best/biggest club stands (still trying to work out how the UK MkIV's won the prize!) and had more visitors to the stand than any year I can remember.

Attached - pic of the VW Cup car going up the track

fantastic show! great pictures too! It was great to meet up with everyone there. Need to make sure we can all get on the club parking together next year though and I expect to see you there next year Jim else you'll be in trouble!

Heres some of the beauties I saw. This is the first time I've attached a pic, is there a quicker way than attaching one pic and then editing your post to add others?

joebloggs69,

There are a couple of video clips i got of the corrado cup car doing the 1/4 mile

(clips are about 5-7MB each)

http://www.haydon.plus.com/MVI_0156.AVI and http://www.haydon.plus.com/MVI_0160.AVI

the best of the two was 14.05 (you can see the times in the clip)

Fastest run I saw was the Audi Sport Quattro at 9.84 secs 0-60 in 2.62 Seconds,

pretty impressive.

Results are supposed to be appearing on the inters website, not there yet though !

The Quattro managed to get just under 2.5 seconds to 60, so I assume that must have been it's fastest quarter... ?

Dunno M8 I only saw it run the once, might've been it's first run ?

The crowd seemed quite surprised when it went that quick

The sprint times normally get posted onto the Autometrix website a week or so after the event, so keep a look out. I certainly saw Keith Murray do a 10.28s earlier on Saturday, and am fairly sure the 0-60 was quicker - a 2.36s or something.

Just for interest, the first of those clips that were posted (vs the MkIV Golf) the Corrado lost 14.92s vs 14.95s but Ian (the driver) told me tonight that that Golf had around 350bhp, wheras the Corrado runs 220bhp in the VW Cup.

Later in the day he got down to around 14s as was stated, but could have gone quite a bit quicker if he'd not been treating the racing box with a good deal of mechanical sympathy (ie he was using the clutch when changing instead of crashing it)

Of course that Corrado will pi$$ on just about everything on a circuit, including that bi-turbo R32. Bhp ain't everything...

Is that Keith Murrays Audi Quattro?

Truely an awesome machine.. its 0-100 speed is something insane like 5 or 6 seconds
