Mawrick 0 Posted May 29, 2013 Anyone know if it's possible to change out the copper bit that is controling the speed of the heater fan?. If so any DIY guides out there? this is on the newer style interior (3 knobs)
nrc 0 Posted May 30, 2013 Yep, you can remove it and swap it for a new one. Not a difficult job - just remember what goes where!
Mawrick 0 Posted May 30, 2013 Is it the sliding "lip" that can be replaced, or the whole copper thingy ?. Also do I need to take the HVAC control all out - or possible to change on the car? (Any tips on how it's changed appreciated :) )
nrc 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Yes, just the "lip" can be replaced. It's separate from the copper ring. You can probably do it with the controls in place if you remove the plastic surround and the fan speed dial, but if you need more access you'll find the controls are only held in with 4 screws. As far as I recall the copper contact isn't held it by much - it just slots into place.
