Tattie 0 Posted May 10, 2004 Hi folks, contemplating changing my full size spare / humped boot carpet for a space saver and the flat carpet. Question is what size space saver do I need?

Supercharged 2 Posted May 10, 2004 You need... 3 1/2J x 15 ET40 - may be hard to get hold of a 4 stud tho as mk3 GTi's are all 5 stud with 205's ie VR6 fittment. (ET38 for VR6)
Tattie 0 Posted May 10, 2004 Cheers for that. Will keep my eye open.
h100vw 0 Posted May 10, 2004 Tattie, you could get away with a 14 inch one from a mk2 Golf. A 15 inch 4 stud one would be pretty rare. If you got a flat on the front of your car, you would have to stick the sapre on the back and move the good 15inch one to replace the flat. Might sound a load of trouble but how often do you get a flat?? Gavin

Henny 0 Posted May 10, 2004 Dazzy, that's the route I think I'm gonna go down... the weight saving can't hurt either! ;) If I get a puncture on one of my fronts I'd have to swap a rear onto it anyway and then put the spare onto the rear as there is NO way a space saver will clear my Brembos!
