What size space saver??

Hi folks,

 

contemplating changing my full size spare / humped boot carpet for a space saver and the flat carpet.

 

Question is what size space saver do I need?

Well ive got that 70 l tank humped carpet and a space saver, so someone tell me how it all works again

You need...

 

3 1/2J x 15 ET40 - may be hard to get hold of a 4 stud tho as mk3 GTi's are all 5 stud with 205's ie VR6 fittment.

 

(ET38 for VR6)

Tattie, you could get away with a 14 inch one from a mk2 Golf. A 15 inch 4 stud one would be pretty rare. If you got a flat on the front of your car, you would have to stick the sapre on the back and move the good 15inch one to replace the flat.

 

Might sound a load of trouble but how often do you get a flat??

Dazzy, that's the route I think I'm gonna go down... the weight saving can't hurt either! ;) :lol:

 

If I get a puncture on one of my fronts I'd have to swap a rear onto it anyway and then put the spare onto the rear as there is NO way a space saver will clear my Brembos! :roll:
