12 Point star bits !!

Does anybody know a good place to buy these 12 point star bits that are used on the Corrado (the ones used to undo the drive shafts, head bolts, flywheel etc.)

 

I assume that VAG sell them, but I also assume that they will be cheaper else where !!

 

Anywhere mail order, or near Bristol would be great !!

Motor World do them and probably Halfords.

GSF sell 'em for the head bolts (a nice long one that reaches in easily... 8) )

number 8 spline bit. it fits the driveshafts and the plug lead plastic thingy's on the vr6.

Hmmm.... I shall go to GSF I think, as I went to Halfords earlier and they didn't have any, all they had where torque bits !

they are NOT torx bits, they are spline drive.

Halfords definetly do them, I think you buy 7 on a rail for about £20

I've got that rail too, but they are poop for driveshafts, and the bit holder is too big and the CV boot gets i the way. buy a boxed set with the long ones in it, they are much better.

Yeah I bought the set with long ones from Halfords too and they've removed driveshaft and head bolts countless times and are showing almost no wear at all. Top stuff.
