Hofmiester 10 Posted July 22, 2013 Going to fit my V9 charger shortly and need to remove and tap the sump. Wondering if it is best to buy a new one as I've seen some Elring branded ones for sale from Topran (Germany) There are two kits, one with a rubber gasket and one without. Is it better to seal the sump with sealing compound or to use the gasket? Difference is price is about £20, anyone know how much the VW sump sealant is to buy? seanl82 23 Posted July 23, 2013 For early VR I believe you need the sealant for the fibre gasket. The later rubber gaskets are not required though. VW want £45 for the rubber gasket, so I went with an elring one from cp4l for around £15 iirc. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
