Eelectrical help

Hi hope someone can help

I have a 1994 VW Corrado VR6 I have hopefully included a photo with this post.

I'm trying to replace this item.

I believe this is some kind of resistor but where someone has try to repair the item before they have removed most of the part numbers on the item and I'm unsure what the item even dose as the car seams to be working ok? I did pop in to my local VW dealer and they did not have a clue what it was.

This was just cable tie to the ABS pump so I guessing there should also be a clip that should have healed it on somewhere

Thanks

I don't recognise it and to be honest it looks like someone has cut and shut a resistor into the plug to replace something else (a sensor of some sort that might have previously been fautly perhaps?). Have a look around where you found it to see whether there are any similar plugs (connected or otherwise) that it could plug into.

Can you put up a picture of the loom it was attached to in the engine bay - as tony says that looks very non standard and is most likely someone bypassing a faulty sender.

Hope that picture is of some help

The wires are both red with a black line down them the wire go straight Into the loom there is an outer cable that part of that loom as well and it go into the side of the ABS pump

I'm sure this a VW part as there is something for the dim- dip driving light that look very similar to this but I'm not 100% sure that what it is as my light are seaming to be working fine

Thanks for your help
