Wings --- Early v Late

Can anyone tell me what is the difference.

 

I have a set in my garage and was told they were off a late but I don't think they are

the late ones are more flared where the curved arch comes out of the flat side of the wing, about a cm more flare on the lates, so along the lines of 1cm flare early, 2cm on the lates. see my lovely ASCII art below:

Hard to tell, the light is reflecting off the paint on the original so is accentuating the step of the flare, but to me the replacement looks early. Worth offering it up against the original to be sure though. It'll be pretty obvious I would have thought when side by side.

Is there anyway you can take a cross section of the profile of both wings at a given point to compare. I was thinking something like a flexi curve. But being crude some stiff electrical wire would give you a good indication of profile.
