aks_uk 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Im trying to reset my CO to base 2% due to very high petrol consumption, around only 15mpg on london roads. anybody have a picture of where the ISV and throttle body is located on a 1.8 16V? I found a guide on cleaning the ISV but its for a MK2 golf, I couldn't see the ISV under my bonnet.
aide 0 Posted May 20, 2004 ISV is the cylindrical brass looking thing on side of cylinder head. Cleaning regime is same, nearly identical engine For adjustment of CO look at thread running at moment titled '16v problems' about 3 threads above this one :D throttle body is connected at north west corner of inlet manifold - can't miss it :!:
aks_uk 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Thanx mate, I shall be getting on with it...oh yeah one other question, which is the ignition coil? and metering head rubber boot?
aide 0 Posted May 24, 2004 sorry man - been away for while 8) Ignition coil is silverish and tucked in rear section of bay underneath passenger windscreen wiper, got HT lead and, timing leads coming out one end. The Fuel metering head is bottom lefty hand side of bay, sorta metal blockish with fuel flow and return on pipes side, and five pipes going to injectos and cold start valve, dunno what the 'boot' is though :?: :!:
Henny 0 Posted May 24, 2004 "boot" is the big rubber air guide on top of the metering head... ;)
